Building on the internationally recognized excellence of the Portuguese thermodynamic school, ThermoCal is a Research infrastructure that merges IMS facilities in the area of thermal analysis and calorimetry, in Lisbon, Coimbra and Porto.

The available facilities include state-of-the-art commercial instrumentation, as well as unique, in- house developed systems and methodologies.

Calorimetry and thermal analysis methods, alone or linked to other techniques, are key tools to address a variety of fundamental scientific problems and societal challenges related with life sciences, pharmaceuticals, energy, environment, climate-neutral technologies, and processes, just to name a few.
